An interview with Charlie Lawson
Former Coronation Street star, Charlie Lawson, has shown his support for year-round barbecuing by backing the Great British BBQ campaign.
Having played Jim McDonald for 11 years in the hit soap, Charlie Lawson has now swapped the ‘Corrie’ cobbles for Prestbury Village, where he helps to run Prestbury’s Farm Shop with his partner, Debbie Stanley. He shoots the game that hangs proudly outside the shop himself, and BBQs a selection of fresh meat for the many passers-by on a daily basis, offering “another service for the village,” that is much cheaper than alternatives in the area. But it’s not only locals who shop at Prestbury’s Farm Shop, as it was also revealed that Charlie and Debbie have a whole host of celebrity regulars dropping in, including Coleen and Wayne Rooney, Vincent Kompany, and Freddie Flintoff, who has spoken fondly of his visits to Prestbury Farm Shop on Radio 1 recently with breakfast show host, Nick Grimshaw.
Talking of the winter pledge campaign, Charlie says “put something on your head and a warm jacket on, that’s all you need.”
